In Western and Eastern monasteries and ashrams sweeping floors is a daily meditation. The right amount of house-keeping, in some cases monastery or temple keeping keeps monks and nuns sane, happy, and enhances contemplation.
I like sweeping the floors instead of using our horrible noisy vacuum cleaner.
absolutely, Paula! thank you for adding that good word. i love learning about the monastic traditions. i should pull a couple of good stories from the desert abbas and ammas for this series. happy sweeping!
